Hello golfers, this is BIRDIE SHOT’s development team.
As we mentioned in a past announcement, BIRDIE SHOT will soon be available on Google Play.
This Google Play release will come with a major update which will include a number of significant changes to the game.
In the next few Developer’s Notes, we’d like to share these changes to better prepare you for what is coming.
Today we will disclose what the new Near-pin Mode and Masters Mode will look like.
[Near-pin Mode]
[UI and numbers shown on in-development screenshots may differ from the official release versions]
■ How it is played:
- You must be above Tier 3 in World Tour to unlock Near-pin Mode.
- In Near-pin Mode, players attempt to land their ball as close to the hole cup as possible with a single swing in order to win Gold prizes.
- Each season lasts 3 days, with two seasons opening each week.
- A number of free attempts are given each day. Any attempts exceeding this number will consume Balls.
- Luck will be an important factor in this mode because you will only be able to see the direction of the wind, not how strong it is blowing (the Perfect Ball Guide skill is disabled in Near-pin Mode).
■ Prize Distribution:
- The prize pool is divided into the hole-in-one pool and the ranking pool.
- The hole-in-one prize pool will keep growing as the total number of Balls consumed in Near-pin Mode increases during a season.
- The ranking prize pool will have a fixed amount.
- Players who successfully hole out during each season will receive an equally divided fraction of the hole-in-one prize pool, while the rest of the players will receive a fraction of the ranking prize pool depending on their position on the ranking.
- The portion of the hole-in-one prize pool left over after distribution will be added to the next season’s prize pool.
- CC Membership NFT holders will receive Gold rewards at the end of each season based on the total amount of Balls used in Near-pin Mode during each season.
[Masters Mode]
[UI and numbers shown on in-development screenshots may differ from the official release versions]
■ How it is played:
- You must be above Tier 5 in World Tour to unlock Masters Mode.
- In Masters Mode, players engage in 1vs1 matches against each other to earn more victory points than their rivals.
- A 6-days-long season will be held every week. Some weeks, however, a 7-days-long Event Cup (such as BORA Cup) season will be held instead of the regular Masters Mode season.
- A number of free attempts are given each day. Any attempts exceeding this number will consume Balls, becoming more expensive as your number of attempts during that day increases.
- If Balls were consumed to enter a match, some consolation Victory Points are given in case of defeat. (edited for clarity)
- If Balls were consumed to enter a match, the amount of Victory Points lost is reduced.
- You must participate at least a set number of times during a season in order to be ranked.
■ Prize Distribution:
- The prize pool has a fixed base amount and a variable amount.
The variable amount increases with the total amount of games played on Masters Mode during this season.
- On Masters seasons following an Event Cup, extra rewards are added to the variable amount depending on the amount of Balls consumed during the Event Cup.
- CC Membership NFT holders will be able to receive some Gold depending on how many Balls were used during an Event Cup.
In addition, CC Membership NFT holders will be able to receive a portion of the fixed prize pool Gold.
■ Changes to Event Cup rules:
- Event Cups (such as BORA Cup) will be played in the same way as the Masters Mode, but with different prizes (tBORA for Event Cups and Gold for Masters Mode).
- CC Membership NFT holders will be able to receive some Gold depending on how many Balls were used during an Event Cup.
Please look forward to these new game modes and stay tuned for the next Developer’s Note,
which will showcase changes and additions to the in-game Shop.
