Detailed Explanation of the May 8th Update Issue
2025-05-09

Greetings, Saviors.

We would like to provide a detailed explanation of the issue after the May 8th update to help clear any misunderstandings.

1. There are six server channels within the Asia server. While the patch was correctly applied to four of these channels, two channels did not receive the patch. (At the time, we were not yet aware of this issue.)

2. In Eversoul, the game requests information from various server channels based on specific conditions whenever a player performs an action. Therefore, depending on which server channel was connected at the given moment, the issue may or may not have occurred.

3. At around 1:40 PM UTC+9(4:40 AM UTC+0), a non-maintenance patch was applied. However, this was unrelated to the above issue and was intended to fix the missing dialogue in Renee(Argent)'s town conversations. (Even at this point, we had not yet identified the cause.)

4. On channels 5 and 6, where the issue occurred, Renee (Argent)’s data was completely absent. Additionally, there was no data for the spirit, the pickup summon, or the related event.

5. Since the patch for Renee (Argent) had been properly applied to players’ devices, it could appear as if Rene existed on the server, even though the server could not properly retrieve the relevant data. This may have led to confusion.

6. If a player attempted Renee (Argent)'s pickup summon while connected to channels 1 through 4, the summon would proceed normally since those channels had the correct data. (The connected channel can vary with each summon attempt.)

7. However, if the player connected to channels 5 or 6 during the pickup summon attempt, the summon would not proceed due to the absence of Renee (Argent)’s data on those channels, resulting in an error. In such cases, no currency was consumed.

8. The exact cause of the issue was identified and fixed at 6:00 PM UTC+9(9:00 AM UTC+0). Until that time, the issue could occur inconsistently depending on which server channel was accessed.

9. Since Renee (Argent) may or may not have appeared in actions like general summons during that period, we have decided to fully refund the currency used for general summons and similar actions during that time.

10. However, for pickup summons specifically, if the summon was preformed and completed, Renee (Argent) was included in the summons rate table pool. If she weren’t included, the summons would not have proceeded. Therefore, pickup summons are excluded from the refund. (As explained in point 7.)

11. Our logs confirm that from the end of maintenance until 6:00 PM UTC+9(9:00 AM UTC+0), players who connected to channels 1 through 4 were able to obtain Renee (Argent) through normal pickup summons.

12. Since the server channel used could vary, the issue occurred inconsistently and could lead to player confusion. We agree to these results.

13. We admit there was a lack of communication regarding this matter, and we sincerely apologize.

Compensation related to point 10 has now been sent via in-game mail.

Additionally, as an apology for the inconvenience caused by this incident, we are sending an additional 2,100 Everstones to all affected Asia server players.

Thank you.
