A guild will stay intact as long as a character affiliated with 

it remains active in the game, 

unless the guild leader chooses to disband it manually.

However, guilds with no active members for an extended period 

are automatically disbanded. 

Unfortunately, automatically disbanded guilds cannot be recovered.
